It's still two or three months from opening, says co-owner Aria Ben, but Ben and his wife Patti are refurbishing the tiny cottage that was hidden away behind a fence on Rowena near Edendale Grill for so many years.
Silver Take will be a take-out and eat-in cafe with foods from many cultures, including Mediterranean, according to Ben. This photo doesn't show the full extent, but there's pretty wood paneling and counters and a patio out back.

Glad to have run keyboard first into your blog - real boss resource ya got up in here.
Exciting, thanks for sharing the news, Pat!
This is exciting! After the demise of Netty's, Silver Take will be a great option.
Do give us the heads-up when it actually opens... even a quiet whisper if they plan a 'soft open' would be even better!
As of 12/16/09 their answering machine says that they will open in March 2010.
And now it's for sale. Nothing on the MLS, but the sign went up this weekend. Another victim of the ridiculous restaurant permitting process in Los Angeles,
I realize this is a very old post...but does anyone know what is happening with this space? I live nearby and every time I pass it, the restaurant looks like it's existing in some time warp, with the patrons having been whisked away elsewhere mid-meal. Tablecloths are still there, chairs in place, everything. It's kind of a shame, after all that work!
