Mess Hall's mega pork chop |
Mess Hall opened just three months ago in the former Louise's Trattoria space. Read how it rated in the January Los Feliz Ledger. Here's an excerpt from the review:
Many of the homey dishes skew towards the South, like corn fritters and shrimp ‘n grits, vying with hipster touches like the inevitable kale Caesar or a plate of pickled market vegetables.
Main courses are a user-friendly bunch that includes a very respectable burger ($15), excellent fries and brick chicken with collard greens. A moist, smoky grilled center cut pork chop ($26) is a wise choice, with cheesy grits and mustard greens on the side. Grilled trout with long beans was drier and less flavorful than the pork, but everyone can find something they’ll like, from seared scallops to pork belly mac ‘n cheese ($14).
