Pinkberry launches new Granita drinkable yogurt

A dj spins for the introduction of the Granita Pinkberry drink

EatingLA stopped by the original Pinkberry in West Hollywood for a blogger soiree to introduce the new Granita drink. I met Ron Graves, CEO of Pinkberry as well as its founder Shelly Hwang. Hwang helpfully pointed out that the new drink makes it much easier to consume Pinkberry in the car -- something I confess I've tried to do before without much success. Of course, the new drink won't work that well with toppings, since they'd get caught in the straw, but I like the clean, tart flavor all by itself just as much as with Oreos. It's just a way to "extend the brand" as they say in corporate-land. The Granita drink, which tastes about the same as Pinkberry yogurt, just a little more runny and a little more crystally, will be introduced in six stores for now, including West Hollywood and Farmer's Market. A small Granita runs $3, while a large is $3.50.

I had it. It would taste better smoother, but is basically a Pinkberry Icee.

Is this basically the same stuff that Starbucks is using in its Sorbetto?
