Return of chicken knees: J. Gold goes to King Hua

Sea Harbour's dumplings look rather similar...
Making a run to the Alhambra Target a few weeks ago, I noticed the Chinese restaurant across the street had again changed names, this time to King Hua. I inquired on Chowhound -- "it's always been bad" was basically the response. So I then ventured to the erratic territory of Yelp, only to find a poster mentioning that the chef was the dim sum chef from Sea Harbour. So King Hua immediately went to the top of my restaurants to try list, although I wasn't about to eat dim sum in Alhambra last weekend when it was 105 degrees. Well, as usual, Jonathan Gold is made of stronger stuff, and braved the heat to try King Hua, and seemed fairly pleased with the result. I'm afraid once was enough for the chicken knees, though, even if they're as good as Sea Harbour. Guess I'm just not a cartilage fan.

I was just going to say, that looks like Sea Harbour dim sum! I just hope this weekend isn't ALSO 107 degrees. Ugh.
