Grated Jidori egg! Bone marrow toast! Candied rhubarb! The likes of which Echo Park has never seen. Clare snapped a photo of Josef Centeno's new Lot 1 on Sunset Blvd. It doesn't look very fancy inside or out, but the menu promises some pretty interesting dishes. There's also breakfast bacos and a creative brunch menu. Prices range from $17-22 for entrees, $9 for lunch bacos and around $9-11 for breakfast dishes.

What are bacos? All that comes to mind is fake bacon in a plastic jar.
I think it's a taco made with bread instead of tortilla.
22$ for a steak?!!! Are they nuts? This is not Beverly Hills, candided rhubarb? I would rather chew on the sole of my shoe. There is no way I would go inside of that Place. Go to Taix if you want good normal food.
I was there yesterday and the prices have already been dropped, so no worries there. Plus the atmosphere and vibe was pretty cool...oh and it doesnt hurt that the food was damn good.
I would def recommend checking it out.
Taix? Gimme a break! The place looks like a small-city airport lounge from the sixties and the food tastes like it was cooked in the sixties.
To "long time echo park resident": I fear it has been quite some time since you went to Beverly Hills for a steak. I have been to Cut, Mastro, Craft, etc. and the steaks are easily $50+ up to $100 for a steak. A well prepared steak for $22 is incredible. Lot 1 is an excellent restaurant which deserves neighborhood support. I am glad to see places like this and 15 cropping up and hope that it continues.
Yeah, $22 for a good steak is pretty damn reasonable...especially considering that to buy your own decent steak in a market is going to cost 1/3 of that anyway...and I've never had a Beverly Hills steak, but fairly low brow Taylors (which I still really like) is going to charge you a minimum of $22 to get into the steak game.
