L.A. Times adds beer column, hooray!

Charles Perry did a thorough survey of hot dogs in today's food section, but even better for me, he's started a Beer of the Month column. He makes the point that L.A. is finally improving as a beer town, after years of opening bar after bar with pathetic beer selections. The other night we stopped by Footsie's and found their on-tap beer selection was decent. This month, Perry highlights Victory Prima Pils from Pennsylvania.

And since Charles Perry had his retirement party today at the Times, it is only fitting that his column would be announced?!!!
Will occasionally do special assignments, and maybe beer will be some of them.
Sure hope the beer gig comes out better than their wine coverage!

L.A. is a huge beer town, with more variety every day. It's the hot weather and the multiethnic choices. This should be a weekly column, or at least alternate with wine coverage: how hard can it be to find a beer blogger in L.A.?
