At least three new pizza spots are open or opening in Silver Lake.
Andiamo at 2815 Sunset promises delivery on Vespas -- cute touch. Good topping selection, choice of whole wheat crust. Also salads, panini.
Tomato Pie Pizza Joint (same as the one on Melrose) promises New York style pizza, subs, etc. From the state of the space, I'd say it's at least two months away.
2457 Hyperion (corner of Tracy and across from Baller Hardware)
323-661-6474
As for Garage Pizza in the Fountain and Sunset minimall, it's coming along -- I'd say a month or two away.

What ever happened to Two Boots?
I hope these places end up being better than Andiamo, got their pizza recently and was very disappointed...
I miss Vito's :(
agree with anonymous #1...visited andiamo last night, had the pasta and pizza, and was severely disppointed in both. to me, the food tasted like an updated version of palermo's--healthier ingredients, but overcooked, chewy and not very tasty.
Tomato Pie is open... we ordered a pie Wednesday night and thought it was heaploads better than their neighbor Hard Times. Hard to find as there is no signage yet but worth the hunt to find it. Nothing fancy, just a straight up slice of pizza. Owners were super nice and the crust was still crispy the next day.
Great! Something to balance out all the Thai.
Funny how people can have completely different opinions about food. everyone is entitled to their opinion unless they choose not to own it. I personally have not tried tomato pie but im certain its a fine slice of pizza. I have yet to hear a negative comment about Andiamo but i would be a fool to think it will never come. Again the opinion thing. However I do feel negative anonymous blogs are the epitome of cowardice. I invite anyone who has had a bad meal at Andiamo silverlake to come in again and reveal themselves and I will go out of my way to fix what they believe is wrong. As a business owner I will always support each and every business in Silverlake, including other Italian eateries. i love the small town feel. Where i grew up there was a pizza place on every corner and I ofcourse had my preference but that didn't stop me from trying others. I also believe we do have the best FOOD, CHEF, STAFF and DECOR out there and any haters will just have to deal with that. So come down to Andiamo and see for yourself and while you are at it try every restaraunt in Silverlake. Support the small business owner. Lets do what most LA towns could not. Lets keep the small town feel going. ANDIAMO!
Regards
Billy Basha owner of Andiamo
I've eaten at Andiamo Silverlake & the food was fabulous. For more Andiamo review check out yelp.com
Tomato Pie, you guys are amazing! Welcome to the neighborhood. I agree with a previous reviewer, tons better than Hard Times.
Hard Times, peace out! Tomato Pie, helllllooooo! The meatlover pizza is mouthwatering. Everyone NEEDS to go there ASAP! An awesome addition to the neighborhood. Friendly staff, plenty of seating and hidden just like I like. =)

They're pretty good, prices are reasonable... will definitely be returning.

oops!
ate at Garage Pizza last night and thought I would look around to find if there's any buzz about it because there definitely should be. Great great pizza. The menu has only pizza but I saw a few people ordering stuff not on the menu (breadsticks, calzones) and they looked great. Breadsticks reminded me of the kind Vito's used to make. I miss that place too. Anyway, haven't tried the other places mentioned here but I'm going to stick with Garage for awhile. Plus it's open till 3am on thurs fri and saturday. Yay to late night pizza!
