Via Daily Candy comes word that Reservoir opens tonight in the former Netty's space on Silver Lake Blvd. Start clicking on those Google ads, kids, so EatingLA can afford to check it out for you. Or if you try it this weekend, report back -- TIA.
Does anyone remember when Netty's opened, or what was there before? According to this article, Netty's launched in 1987.

Netty's was around in the 1980s
There was a Japanese/American hamburger stand there. They served a very basic teriyaki burger; had very minimalist decor, was still an indoor/outdoor place like Netty's but no pretense and quite inexpensive--ok but not exciting (not like Thai American burger). I think they had white rice too and teriyaki chicken. No air conditioning or it didn't work as it always seemed very hot (and a bit greasy) when you went in to order.
any idea if they have full bar or just wine at Reservoir..I can't tell from the site and the phones been off the hook all day.
reservoir just carries beer and wine
I once bought a tree at a seasonal xmas tree lot on the location.
Also, I think in the 80's, it was a nursery.
I ate there on Thursday night, had a salmon dish with a farro/asparagus side dish. Very good and more than sufficient for $22. Wine list sucks by and large, but in fairness, at least they will open any bottle and serve you a glass if you prefer. But they do offer Laetitia(sp?) pinot, which has some cred but the Malbec and grenache are not very good, though. They should talk to April, Randy, or George at SL Wine to get some better suggestions.
Please really looks and feels nice, albeit the bar is too high or the stools are too low. Could have rested my chin on the bar if the situation came to that!!!
I meant place, not "please" in comment above!
I drove by around 4:30 and noticed the doors were opened and they were folding napkins. Didn't think this day would come!
We ate there on Friday night and had a lovely meal. The seconds are all delicious and priced at $11 and when you buy an main dish, it comes with a second at no cost. The apps are delish too.
Best of all, we had a fantastic gay waiter who offered us the spectacular silver lake dessert of a "chocolate anise" pronounced, perhaps, in an unuaual manner (rhymes with heinous).
This table of four gays, after a beat, could not let it go. We ordered it, we ate it and we can report that the Chocolate Anise is delicious.
the burger stand that kathy mentioned was called "C+R"
