Lots to do in L.A.'s food world

Why not....

Learn vegan cookery with Jenny and Heather at Spork Foods. Upcoming classes include South American, Jewish vegan cooking, pizza and Italian.

Learn a much meatier variety of Italian cooking when the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena does Milanese food including osso buco. The class is April 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 626-683-1354 for info.

Take a charcuterie class at BLD with chef Neal Fraser. The first stop is Spain, and for $25 you'll try two wines, two cheeses and two meats and learn how to put them together. April 28th, 5:30-6:30pm. Call 323-930-9744 for more info.

Keep up the vegan theme by trying out Vegan Village Cafe in the mid-city area. The new cafe offers vegetarian soul food and Mexican dishes at 4061 W. Pico Blvd.

Be served curry rice and milk tea by Japanese ladies in traditional maids' uniforms (no, I'm not making that up) at L.A.'s first cosplay restaurant, the Royal/T Cafe, 8910 Washington Blvd., Culver City, 310-559-6300.
