Gus's in South Pasadena to re-open April 14

Get ready for the new Gus's, but with the same great vintage piggy sign. Hopefully Gus's, which is set to open April 14, will provide a much-needed family-oriented choice for South Pasadenans that falls somewhere between the perhaps too-populist Carmine's and the pricier places like 750 ml, Cafe de la Gare, etc.
Here's some of the dishes promised: Hickory smoked BBQ in Memphis and St. Louis styles with Gus's homemade smoky, spicy housemade BBQ sauce; blackened spiced burger with blue cheese, BBQ sliders, Carolina pulled pork sandwich, cast iron cornbread with jalapeno jelly and plenty of traditional sides like pecan rice, creamed corn and sauteed greens.
The remodeled interior has a long bar, deep red booths, photos of historic South Pas and a planned mural of blues greats...and hopefully a nice beer selection as well.

This is excellent news. We can never have too much good BBQ around town.

I'm going radically off topic here - what the heck is going on at the old Netty's place? Will it ever open? It's been like a year now, maybe more.
