Fresh & Easy opens in Alhambra Wednesday

The newest Fresh & Easy opens at 2121 Main St. in Alhambra Wednesday, with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. I never got in the Fresh & Easy habit since Glassell Park isn't on my regular route, but those $5 off coupons are pretty tempting, so maybe I'll give it another try since I seem to go to the Target across the street, like, every weekend. It's also convenient to King Hua and Fosselman's Ice Cream.

I live near a Fresh and Easy in the Conejo Valley, was never that impressed. Not sure opening one in Alhambra is such a great idea. The competition from all of the inexpensive Asian markets seems like it would be tough to overcome.

It's hard to imagine Fresh & Easy is doing well, since I get those $5 coupons in the mail almost every week, but they're also opening a branch in the old Wild Oats space on South Lake in Pasadena.

I'm sure i'll be bumping into you here, patty, since i am at that target practically every week too! (actually i'm surprised i haven't bumped in to you at target yet! LOL!) i'm actually pretty excited about F&E opening--it's a nice alternative to trader joe's for convenience items, and i'm all about convenience these days!

don't forget neighbors: Chipotle has free burritos all day t'row (til 8).

I stopped by today and it was a zoo, and the parking lot was full (probably due to the free food at Chipotle, which had a gigantic line). A lot of the shelves were empty already, and the only real drawback were the hordes of people trying to figure out the self-service checkout system. This place is nowhere near any of the big Chinese markets (they're all in Monterey Park or San Gabriel, FYI) so it was doing all right, even for a grand opening. I for one am delighted it's here as I spend a lot of time in South Pasadena.

I live close to the new Alhambra Fresh & Easy. I think it's a nice little store. Prices are low, and those '$5 off $20' coupons save you an additional 25% -- this beats all other markets. Plus, their packaged food sells for half off on the expiration date! Oh, and the house brand beer, Taurino, is pretty damn good at $6.99/18-pack.
