Toast the election with a local beer

A beer-pairing dinner at Savannah in Orange County

Not to hijack the big story of the day, but if you're ready for a victory toast, here's my story in Wednesday's L.A. Times food section, A craft beer revolution is brewing in Southern California. It focuses on The Bruery, Craftsman and Dale Bros. as well as the new Eagle Rock Brewing, set to open in early 2009. And here's a sidebar on where to find locally-brewed beers. Salud!

it's time LA catches up with San Diego on the microbrewery trend. Craftsman vs. Stone - who wins? Stone reminds me of brash CA wineries whereas Craftsman is like the biodynmaic, Loire Valley vintner.

Nice article -- not necessarily in agreement with Beer Chick's "Beer is sexy now" but it is starting to get the "wine treatment" in terms of more people wanting to learn about the different varieties, styles, tastes and, of course, pairings.

"freelancer writer" bugged me quite a bit...

Thanks for sharing Pat. I really liked the Bruery's Saison Rue and the Dale Bros. CA dark beer. Looking forward to an LA brewpub tour soon!
