More tequila coming to Los Feliz: Agave Tequila House

Let's see if we can remember all the places that have been in the former Cuba del Oro spot, now opening Friday as Agave Tequila House y Cantina, according to Urban Daddy. Before Cuba de Oro, was it Mes Amis? Of course, at some point, it split, and part of it became 1739 Public House, which was previous Johnny's. Before that, Tiger Lily, and before that, Hollywood Hills Coffee Shop, right?
How to break the curse on that location? Maybe offering 200 kinds of pure agave tequila will do the trick. Or maybe a happy hour from 3-7 every day. We shall see.
One thing the 1739 and Agave folks have figured out: Free bar food is always a good idea.

it was also briefly called cuba libre before renaming itself (why?) cuba de oro; and after the hollywood hills and before tiger lily, it was cafe bliss for a few weeks maybe? also i remember the bar next to/attached to hollywood hills as being called michael's...

Ah, right, Michael's, not Johnny's. Knew it was a guy's name, but Johnny's was where Stinkers is.

And before any of them was Pedro's Bar & Grill, previously Pedro's Mexican restaurant, owned by Pedro Aguilar.
I tried to put a good tenant in that space, yet he could not see it my client's way, so it has been way too many names to conjure up.
Maybe one day it will be recombined and made into a real restaurant!

I say bring back Hollywood Hills. It was better than all the rest of those dumps.

I seem to remember that Spaceland had shows here before it located at Dreams of L.A. on Silverlake Blvd. These were the days that it was Pedro's Bar & Grill.
