Baja flavors in Lynwood Saturday

Where's Lynwood, you say? Well, it's kind of where the 105 freeway intersects the 110 and 710, so it's pretty easy to get to. What you may not know is that it is one of L.A.'s fastest-growing Hispanic communities with some great Mexican and Central American food destinations, including La Huasteca and La Casita in nearby Bell. This Saturday from 12 to 6, the Rosarito and Ensenada tourism boards are sponsoring El Sabor de Baja, the flavor of Baja, at Plaza Mexico, with food, Baja wine, music and artisanal products from Mexico. Read more about it at Street Gourmet LA's blog.

We usually go down to Baja several times a year mainly to eat, but have recently avoided it all due the the reports of violence and kidnapping.

Anyone hear if it's quieted down at all lately? We're dying to get back to Rosarito or Ensenada.

Love the blog Pat - been following for a couple few years now. You don't hit other parts of our great culinary city as often as I would like, nice to see you hit upon Lynwood. You are a bit mistaken on the description/location of Lynwood, however, glad to see you are venturing out of Silverlake. Be glad to point you in a few directions dependent upon what your appetite craves. Keep up the great blog
Best regards, Westie
