Barbarella Bar getting ready to take over Zen Sushi

The transformation of Hyperion Ave.'s tired and dingy Zen Sushi into Barbarella Bar, from Bungalow Club owner Anat Escher, is coming along, with a new beige and tan paint color and wood details replacing faded grey and red Japo-tack. Nobody will miss the smelly sushi and sidewalks full of slouching teens waiting to get into Zen, but will Barbarella class up the neighborhood? Stay tuned. Update: A commenter below points out the Craigslist ad for a chef to do "organic rustic Mediterranean" food. The ad spells it Barbarella instead of Babarella like on their liquor license, so maybe that's what they meant.

Also, they're spelling it Babarella, but it seems like it should be Barbarella, right? Or does it have to do with babes?

Smelly sushi? Ouch. Glad I never ate there. Hopefully Barbarella will offer more than that the movie it was named for.
