Coming to Echo Park: Delilah's Bakery

Thanks to Jon Huck who tipped us off to a new bakery underway in Echo Park...Delilah's is in a freestanding building on Echo Park Ave. just north of Chango and Show Pony. It looks cute...does anyone know when Delilah's plans to open?

I voted there for the primary election. I thought that the space was a *former* bakery, not a soon-to-be-bakery. My initial impression kind of gives you a hint as to the bakery's state of disrepair. Needless to say, Deliah's still needs a lot of work. Plus, I hope there's parking. I had to park on the street, which was kind of a pain the butt because the streets got kind of hilly and windy.

  2. Thanks for the hint. Seeing as I live on Echo Park Ave, I'll be anticipating Delilah's opening with bated breath.

Delilah bakery is awesome! The improvements to the building make the street look much more appealing. The treats are tasteful and fresh. I suggest riding your bike, because parking is not so good. This is going to be my new local hangout. I definitely recommend.

I ordered a cake from this bakery with very high hopes and enthusiasm for the idea of a new cake shop in the neighborhood. They claimed their cakes are made fresh everyday, but this cake--at $38--tasted stale when eaten the evening I picked it up from them. I have serious doubts it was made that morning, and by the next day it was too stale to eat. I won't be buying a cake from these folks again. They also had a lot of attitude. Overall, a wannabe Magnolia Bakery, for anyone who knows that place in New York's West Village, but without the quality.
