If it seemed like the last few weeks had a crazy amount of events, things are not letting up. But the good thing about the September events is that they're more focused and maybe it will even be cooler for some of them.

If you're a fried chicken fanatic: On Sunday, Sept. 15, at Lot 613 Downton, FoodGPS hosts a gourmet Fried Chicken Festival with notable chefs including Susan Feniger, Jason Neroni, David LeFevre, Roxana Jullapat and Daniel Mattern, Bryant Ng and Matt Poley. Firestone Walker will pour three craft beers during the event. Tickets available here. ($55/$90 VIP)

If you love craft beer: This year, the Opening Gala for L.A. Beer Week on Saturday, Sept. 22 has been moved indoors at Union Station to the grand ticketing hall, with a maximum of 600 tickets for sale. More than 50 breweries will be participating with tastes from several restaurants, with a chance to meet brewers from L.A.'s new Brewers Guild. Check the Beer Week website to find dozens of other special events at bars and restaurants all over the city, and we'll highlight a few local ones next week. Tickets available here ($70).
Jet Tila is one of L.A.'s most enthusiastic Thai food ambassadors
